Dr Peter has worked in Potts Point for 30 years.
Peter is an experienced and passionate dentist who has spent his career educating other dentists and educating himself in the art and science of his profession.
He is a leading Australian CEREC user and over the last decade has taught hundreds of dentists in the use of the same day restorative system. He achieved a clinical diploma in orthodontics in 2016 and a Masters in Oral Implantology from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists: the worlds largest dental implant organisation.
An expert in pain management and general dentistry he has special interests in sleep apnoea, root therapy treatment and aesthetic dentistry.
He is the resident dentist of the ABC appearing regularly on Phillip Clarke’s Nightlife.
He has three kids and is a practitioner of early interceptive orthodontics.
Peter graduated with Honours from Sydney University in 1993 and immediately traveled overseas to get life and dental experience in London.
He joined Dayman Dental in 1994. After graduating he combined his love of dentistry and rapport with students by tutoring anatomy and clinical dentistry at Sydney University. He loves learning and teaching. The requirement for continuing education for dentists is 60 hours every three years: Peter averages 100 hours a year. In recent years he has swapped teaching dental students for teaching fellow dentists and continues to teach the use of the CEREC same day crown system and the restoration of complex teeth.
At my surgery I quickly realised technology drove innovation and adopted digital xrays in 1996, the Cerec system in 2004, implant surgery in 2006 and cone beam tomography in 2014. I am an advocate of digital dentistry and use the latest technology to plan every case with precision.
What do I do?
I help people. If you are in pain, I’m your man, if you need a checkup from the neck up, I make the plan. If you need good quality long lasting dentistry, you came to the right guy. If you want something that I don’t do, I know someone who does. Dentists by their nature only do what they know. Many only suggest what they themselves do. I practice on a day to da basis many aspects of general dentistry but I do believe to be a great general dentist you need to know many things about other dentistry that you don’t do. That’s why I chase education in aspects of my profession, even when I don’t necessarily do myself. To suggest a form of treatment and know who the leader is when you don’t do it yourself is to really look after your patient. If you see me as a patient I’ve got you covered.
Why do I do it?
After 30 years the truth is I love it. I love relieving pain, fixing broken mouths and creating nice smiles. I’m not so much into believing everybody needs invasive dentistry. I do believe that its easy to improve what you have . A little straightening, a little whitening, some reshaping and a few hidden restorations are a cost effective and simple way to make people look and feel good. And the best part is I only do what my patients want .
